JOB PURPOSE
Providing expertise in environmental legislation, consulting and representing the organisation on environmental aspects and during ISO 14001 audits. Assist the Europe and Africa sub-regional headquarter and local agencies with rolling out green initiatives relating to ONE’s inland operating network improving customer relations. Collaborate with the team to achieve our main objective for the coming two years:

‘Be the preferred green partner for all stakeholders by infusing sustainability into our core business practices and value chain activities’.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & MEASUREMENT

• Provide environmental regulatory reporting (GHG emission) in a timely and effective manner.
• Undertaking environmental due diligence and review of ONE’s Environmental Management System (EMS) according to applicable ISO 14001 standards and ONE’s Code of Conduct.
• Assess the potential environmental impacts of our activities and projects and recommend mitigation measures to minimize any negative effects.
• Ensure environmental compliance of ONE’s regional operations.
• Report on environmental performance, compliance audits, and project assessments.
• Guiding, training, and coaching the internal and external stakeholders to effectively achieve the organisations environmental targets and business goals.
• Guide and verify the work of the local environmental facilitators in the development of environmental projects and achieving their KPIs.
• Inform, advice, recommend, challenge team members & suppliers in an inspiring way with regards to continuous improvement of environmental performance.
• Stay informed about the latest environmental regulations and best practices through ongoing research and professional development.
• Accomplish various ad-hoc or regular projects contributing to ONE’s (global) green strategy.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
• ISO14001 lead auditor (or agreeable to follow training to become lead auditor)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental consulting, government agencies, or a relevant industry.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and legislation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The ability to build strong internal and external networks.
